Question...

I am wondering if anyone can help me out here... How do you get more than one blog under the same person? I can't seem to do it. When I tried it required a whole new blogger username, and a different email address, etc. Can I do it where I have 2 blogs under my one email address? Or is that not allowed? I see under all kinds of people's profiles where they have more than one blog listed.... If you know, please share! Thanks so much!

The Lasagna Test

Tonight Elise had lasagna for the first time... do you think she liked it? She LOVED it! And her Mally piggy bib got put to the ultimate test... it came perfectly clean - I can't say the same for her face!!! She 2-fisted the entire meal and just kept eating more when I put it in front of her!

After dinner, Steve and the boys went to get yesterday's mail and there was the new catalogue from Mally bibs in the mail! What a great mail day! Elise made it in the catty twice... once eating pears (notice my arm and hand? Does that mean I'm a model too?!) and once on the inside back cover. Check out the Mally Bibs website for a fun and practical baby gift idea...

40th birthday card...

Tomorrow night we have a 40th birthday party to go to and I needed a masculine card. So I pulled out the present from the "Year to Year" set and stamped it on 3 different patterns from the Uptown DP pack, cut the presents out and popped the middle one off the page. The card size is 4 1/4 X 4 1/4. Inside the card is stamped, "Life is not a matter of counting years, it's a matter of making years count."

Room Decor

I have had these letters for Elise's room for the longest time. They have been sitting undecorated on her bedroom shelf. I finally got around to finishing them with "Flowers for you" paper and a bunch of SU! chipboard. Each letter has a bit of stamping on it as well. And I have used grosgrain ribbon and some buttons and rhinestone brads for accents. It will have to wait until the morning to see how they look in her room.... not worth waking the baby to satisfy my curiosity!!! She would wake up and want to see, too, and then want to stay up and play. No thanks! She has been a bit of a crankster lately anyway, and yesterday I discovered why... one of her molars has come in! I think she is about a year early for that, oh well.... some orajel solved the problem yesterday :) (side note: Have you ever tried orajel? It really works! I had a bit left on my finger the first time I put it on her gums and I thought, "Hmmm, I wonder what this stuff tastes like?" So, I put it on my tongue... dumb move - I couldn't feel my tongue for hours!!!)

Singing in Heaven

On July 1st we had a new music Pastor start at our church. And for 3 weeks he led in worship and we barely got to know him, but it was great to have him lead. A week ago today he was killed in a vehicle accident on his way to Calgary. Today was the funeral and I was reminded how precious life is. Nate was only 24 years old. He has left behind a grieving family, but rejoicing that Nate is in Heaven with Jesus. At the funeral some friends and family played in the band and led in worship. One song they sang was written by Nate. He had started the song on July 19th, the day before he died. Here are the words that were written on the bulletin.

This is the Way
You're bringing me back from death to life,
Drawing me near unto your throne,
holding my hand as I journey home...

(there was much more to the song, but these are the only lyrics I have)

What a beautiful service and celebration of a life well lived. I know that he heard these words, "Well done my good and faithful servant," when he entered Heaven's Gates last week. I made a card for Nate's wife Rosanna and one for his parents who we know best out of all the family, but I forgot to take pictures of them to share here. So I will share a picture of Nate and Rosanna.

If you remember, please pray for Rosanna and for the whole family as they have to move on without Nate. Someone said they could picture Nate leading the angels in singing as they all worship God together. That is a beautiful picture, and knowing how he loved to worship with his guitar in hand, I believe he is singing in heaven right now!

Victoria Fun...

While we were on the Island over the last few days, we had some great times with friends and family. Here are a few pics... but there were other people that we saw too! Here is Morfar with Elise:

On Saturday night we went out to my Auntie Marit and Uncle Glenn's for a scrumptious dinner (man can they cook! it was awesome!). The kids were super excited that my cousin Maren was going to be there too - she is always so much fun!
The funniest thing we saw on Saturday was when a raccoon came up to my aunt and uncle's patio door and made friends with Todd. He was quite happy to talk to it, and then decided to read the raccoon a story. So sweet! The raccoon sat and watched him turn the pages and Todd just loved it!

Little Miss Piggy :)

Here are a couple pics from Elise's birthday on the 19th. We were over in Victoria, at Grammie and Papa's, and only came home last night, so I wasn't able to upload the pics till now.

Bought the cake at Thrifty Foods... it was really good! If we had had the party at home I would have made a pig cake, but it was so fun to be at G & P's for Elise's first b-day!The inspiration for the "pig party" came from this little bib that Elise got for modelling for Mally Bibs last month. Also, I had seen a scrapbook page in a magazine that showed a little girl at her first b-day party and the theme was pigs... I thought that was such a cute idea!
It took Elise a little bit to get into eating cake. She wanted to be fed with a fork, and then she leaned into the cake and licked it. Finally she decided it would be fun to get cake all over the place!!

It was so great to see Sue again since she has moved back to Ontario, and is out for a visit. And it was fun to have Tricia and Hunter at Elise's party too!

While Steve was blowing up pink balloons and I was drawing pigs on them, the boys were putting them into the playpen..... Steve said, "oh it's a pigpen!!!"

Happy Birthday Elise!

My Baby Girl is ONE today! Crazy how fast this year went. Here she is in a bunad that I wore when I was a little girl. We are going to have a little party this afternoon, and I will post those pics later. The boys have been asking since before 7am, "when is it time for Elise to open her presents?" I think Elise will be more excited about the cake!!!!!

Fun in the SUN!

Today it is raining, so I want to write about yesterday, when the sun shone and the kids played in their pools!

I got this little kiddie pool on a clearance table a couple years ago at the end of Summer. I put it in my gift drawer and never ended up giving it away. So, when the boys were getting ready to go into their blue pool, I remembered that I still had this blow up one that would be perfect for Elise... well, she is a water baby through and through because she stayed in that cold water for over an hour and she screamed when I took her out. She was totally ripped off that swimming time was over.

Todd hasn't quite grasped the term "swimming lessons" because we wear "bathing suits," right? So he keeps asking for "bathing lessons!" The boys will be going to swimming lessons for the first time at the end of August. They are pretty excited.

Last Sunday we went out for a Family Fun night and we got KFC to eat at the park. Here are a few shots of our fun time!

August Classes

I have added more classes for August on my side bar... please check it out and let me know if you need more info, or want to sign up for one of my stamping classes!

Reba Review...

When we got home last night there was a message on my answering machine... at first I thought it was from the video store or someone leaving me a "friendly reminder." The sweet voice said, "Hello, this is just a friendly reminder...." then I knew exactly who it was... the message went on... "a friendly reminder that I'm going to see Reba McEntire tonight, and I have great seats. Just want to let you know that I'm going to have a great time and I hope you're not too jealous." Well, I was. I know, I shouldn't be jealous of my sister going to see my favourite singer..... But Reba was so close to me on Friday... just a mere 2 hour drive away at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and we couldn't go.

I love Reba. Her link is on my blog. I go there often. I am going to sing with Reba one day. Hey, if Kelly Clarkson can do it... so can I. Reba doesn't know it yet, but I am her future duet partner. I have over 20 Reba albums. Yep, I do! So, can you begin to see how a concert like that was something that I should have been at!

I know Elise will appreciate this because it was with her in '97 that I got to see Reba live. The one and only time I've seen her live in concert.

Here's a picture that Louise took at the concert. What a great shot! For Louise's write-up and more awesome pics, check this out...

Yesterday's adventures.....

Karen and I set out for a day in America with Karis... We wanted to get in one more good visit before Karis and family move down to California in a few weeks. We left my house at 9am, hit the border shortly after only to find that Karen's car was overheating.... so we drove to the next border crossing that was a shorter wait and got to Karis' at about 11:45. We had a great lunch at a quaint little pub in Snohomish. Cutest little strip of shops and antique stores. Here are a couple memories from the day.

Happy Birthday 7-11

Today is 7-11's 80th birthday, and to celebrate they were giving out free slurpees!!! Steve heard about it on the radio today... each store got 1,000 cups and when they were gone they were gone. But we each got one while we were out doing errands tonight. We also picked up 2 huge garbage bags full of boys' clothing from friends who have been giving us boy hand-me-downs since Scotty was born... some of the stuff is brand new! They are so great to us!!

Check out the size of the cup! It was so little and cute!!

Heartfelt Thanks

I had a customer ask me for some input on this set, so I decided to pull it out last night at play around with it. I haven't used it in awhile, so this was fun!!

For this first card, I only used black and saffron ink. I inked the "thanks" in black and then stamped off on a scrap paper a couple times before stamping it onto my project.

And for this one, I used all markers for the images.

Chipboard Card

edit: hey, thanks Jen!! Your suggestion totally worked!! My titles are back.... crazy thing - I've never had to do that before, but I will remember if it ever gives me grief again.

I don't know what the deal is here, but I can't get titles on my posts... so today's posts might just run together.

Anyway, here is a card I made while playing around with the new chipboard pieces. I used Stampin' Up! Craft ink to cover the c/b and markers in the same colours to do the edges anywhere the craft ink wouldn't reach.

I was going to use it as a thank you card for someone, but you will notice that Scotty got ahold of it and added his own design on the inside... he said he thought it was for Elise's first b-day card, and he was just drawing her a picture. Well, how sweet is that? I still gave him a talkin' to about leaving my stuff alone!!!

Workshop last night....

Last night I did a workshop for Cindy and her friends. She a some very scrumptious trifle, and managed to keep her house cool for us even though it was a scorcher yesterday. Thanks Cindy for a fun night out!!!

Here are the projects that I showed last night.
Here is the make and take we did using Soft Sky Prints Designer paper

Makin' the neighbours jealous!!!

There have been so many evenings this summer that our mouths have been watering over what the neighbours are barbecuing for dinner... well tonight, we made the whole neighbourhood jealous. We had our first Summertime BBQ. I know, here we are at the 4th of July already, and we are just firing up the Barbie now! Oh well, it was worth the wait. Marinated chicken breasts, roasted potatoes and baby carrots. Mmmmmmmm! It was good. I love BBQ season for many reasons, and one is that it means that Steve mans the meat. Check him out in his John Deere man's apron! My Granny made that for my mom to give to Steve as a joke (he is a Kubota fan through and through, so JD is not seen much in our house!!!! But my dad is a JD man!!!).

Plus, here is a shot of our new patio furniture!! I love it, and we have already eaten almost every meal outside since Steve set it up a few days ago.

Happy 4th

I know there are a few faithfuls to my blog that are from "down south" in the USA... so Happy 4th of July to you all! Hope you have a great holiday and enjoy your fireworks tonight!!!!
